The hike to Kjeragbolten is an exciting adventure with stunning views all over. The trail takes you through varying terrain to a massive boulder wedged in the Kjerag mountain, providing a thrilling experience in this unique place. The panoramic views of the vertical cliffs and fjords beneath makes it a memorable experience for all kinds of people. Join us for an extraordinary time in the mountains!

We recommend everyone to have the following clothes and equipment at hand when you get picked up by our guide:

  • Hiking shoes*
  • Jacket*
  • Hiking pants*
  • Fleece sweater etc.
  • Gloves
  • Food/snacks and drinks, around 1 liter should be enough.
  • Backpack for food/drinks etc.

(Hiking poles is not recommended due to steep sections where you need to hold on to mounted chains.)

  1. The guide starts pick up at 07:00, please bear in mind that the guide might come within 20 minutes of your chosen time due to multiple pick up points.
  2. We drive for about 1.5 hour through scenic landscapes until we do a short stop for about 15 minutes by a charming cafe serving delicious local foods and drinks.
  3. We continue for about 1 hour until we reach the basecamp of Kjeragbolten.
  4. We prepare our gear and clothes, use the restrooms one last time and fill up our water bottles with clean tap water, if needed.
  5. Your guide gives you details about the day.
  6. We hike for around 2-3 hours incl. small breaks.
  7. We explore and relax by Kjeragbolten for around 30-40 minutes.
  8. We hike back for around 2-3 hours incl. small breaks. If conditions allows it we do a small detour to show an amazing hidden spot where the fjord reveals itself at its best. 
  9. When we´ve finished the descent, we have a small break so you can buy souvenirs, food/drinks and use the restrooms, if you´d like to.
  10. We drive for around 1.5 hour until we get to a local restaurant/cafe where we do a short stop for about 15 minutes. They have lots of local products, of all kinds.
  11. We reach Stavanger after about 1 hour where your guide drop you off at your location after this adventurous day!
  • You should have a decent stamina
  • Some hiking experience is highly recommended
  • You need good enough clothing to withstand rainy and/or windy conditions
